We answer all your questions
I have never done off-piste skiing before. Can I register for this training course?
Yes it is possible but you need to have a competition or class 4 level.
What equipment is needed?
You must bring your own suitable ski equipment (adapted to the snow conditions) as well as warm clothes.
esf will provide the off-piste safety equipment (avalanche transceiver + bag + shovel + probe)
If you have your own safety equipment, the instructor will check that it is working properly.
Is is necessary to wear specific protections?
Wearing a hemet is strongly recommended as well as a back protection, off-piste safety equipment provided (avalanche transceiver + bag + shovel + probe).
Do I need to take out an insurance?
Students are not insured by esf. We recommend the Assur'Glisse insurance. It is only available online or at the lift ticket office.
You also have the snow season card available at esf or at the sports club. Check with your bank if your card covers you for off-piste skiing.
